Quail Hunting

We offer full-day and half-day quail day hunts which include a homestyle lunch. Full-day hunts include a bag-limit of 16 quail, and half-day hunts include 8 quail. Extra birds can be harvested for a fee, which is listed on our rates page. Click here for more hunting pictures.

You are always accompanied by an experienced guide, who handles our dogs as well as if they were his own; and who knows where to find the birds you're after. Our fields are burned and replanted every spring to ensure feed for both wild and supplemental birds.

At Quail Ridge, the emphasis is on friendly, personal service. Hunting here is a leisurely affair. We are serious about safety, and cater to families with children who are old enough to hunt.

You'll hunt from customized Jeeps following well trained pointers. When they lock on point, all you do is slide down, slip a shell in the chamber, and walk up behind the dogs.

Once the covey flushes you can hunt singles on foot, or go back to the Jeep, as terrain and your disposition allow. Our extensive food plots and cover crops create habitats that hold birds, and you can be assured of busting several coveys during a typical half-day hunt.

When it's time to break for lunch, you'll be served a homestyle meal of either fried catfish or quail, and there are always plenty of extras. Most of what we serve is raised or grown right here at Quail Ridge.

The key to good quail hunting over pen-reared birds is good cover. Our mix of sorghum, milo, and other food crops that stand up through the long preserve season provide just that.

Quail is the main event at Quail Ridge, but pheasant hunts are available to our hunters upon request prior to their arrival.
